Transparency…?
Edmund Burke, who is commonly known as the father of modern conservatism once said, “The moment that government appears at market, all the principles of market will he subverted.” It is too bad that our president, Mr. Obama doesn’t follow this philosophy. Ask any high level exec at General Motors about this, or at Chrysler. While I do believe that our economy is experiencing troubles and something needs to be done, I don’t think that having our government telling a private company how to conduct its business is the proper course of action. Left alone, the free market always rights itself. Sometimes the results are harsh, I mean in the past we have lost different auto companies. Anyone remember Rambler? Nash? Packard? Or how about the Indian Mortorcyle company? None of them got a bailout and they all failed. Guess what, the market did not collapse and the industry actually grew stronger. When you have a garden, sometimes you have to pull weeds, or for another analogy, pruning a tree helps it to also grow stronger. Our founding fathers would never have invisioned the US Government stepping in and running a private company. Yet we have the Obama administration doing just that. Steve Rattner, Obama’s so called “Car Czar” sat across the table from General Motors CEO, Rick Wagoner and essentially fired him. This is the same Steve Rattner who is under investigation for a kickback scheme involving a pension fund and his investment firm. Transparency at its best.
So, President Obama why don’t you practice what you preached on the campaign trail and have enough backbone to stand up to the far left elements of the Democratic party? Transparency? I would say that I can see right through our president…
